Cabinet Refacing

Cabinet Refacing can give a new look to existing kitchens at a fraction of the cost of replacing the cabinets. The plastic, self-adhesive material can only be applied to flat surfaces so doors with contours or rounded edges are not suitable for refacing. The inside surfaces are not changed. Thermofoil is available in a variety of colours and patterns, primarily to simulate the look of real wood.

Requirements

The existing cabinets need to be in good condition and free of grease and dirt. Facing trim areas in the cabinets is done on site

Considerations

Refacing is certainly a cost saver and significantly improves the appearance. The process is quick to complete and suitable for a complete kitchen or smaller project. The refaced surfaces should not be exposed to high heat from toasters, kitchen-top ovens and similar appliances. It is not suitable for work surfaces.
